Plasma Systems
Tetronics offers a wide range of DC plasma arc devices including anode, cathode and non-transferred torches as well as gas-stabilised graphite electrodes in a range of sizes from 30 kW to 8 MW and beyond. Tetronics also offers the TwinTorch TM system, which uses two torches or electrodes of opposite polarity connected in series to form a single circuit. This arrangement offers a true hybrid transferred / non-transferred torch configuration for complete flexibility of operation.
Through years of development and research, Tetronics’ plasma arc systems offer significant advantages over competitors’ products. Some of the key features of the design include:
- Long electrode life, in excess of 1000 hours in certain applications. Torches are not seen as consumable
- Low heat losses to torch components, typically less than 15% of input power
- Low gas usage, typically only 200 lpm of argon at 1.5 MW
- Ultra compact design, e.g. 1.5 MW from a 70 mm diameter torch
- High turn down ratios, typically around 20 to 1.
These plasma arc devices are backed up with the careful design and selection of supporting services, including water and gas manifolds, manipulators, plasma controls and plasma power supplies. The experience and expertise of Tetronics ensures that the complete plasma system performs in an efficient, predictable and reliable fashion in the chosen environment, removing the uncertainty, and lowering the cost, of ownership of the equipment. All Tetronics Plasma Arc Systems are designed and manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 requirements.
Tetronics is able to:-
- Provide partial or complete systems for inclusion in existing applications and/or
- Licence plans and designs alone, and/ or
- Arrange operation of plants in appropriate circumstances.
Whatever your DC Plasma Arc requirements Tetronics can engineer an appropriate solution that is specific for your needs.
